Does your business NOT have any Google Reviews? Do you think this is good? There are some business owners/managers that actually think that if they don’t have any ‘Reviews’ on Google, they are doing well.
The thought process is, “If people aren’t’ saying anything ‘bad’ about us, then we must being doing okay.”
This couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s actually the other way around. If consumers don’t have anything good or great to say about your business, you’re probably not doing a very good job of giving the customer the “WOW’ factor.
Without reviews, your business is also irrelevant online. When consumers look up a business online, they are looking for reviews. They want to see what other people think about your product or service.
Did you know that 97% of consumers, 30 years and younger, read online reviews to judge a local business, before deciding to do business with you?
And, 92% of all consumers now read online reviews for local businesses!
So, who’s left? Answer: No one really.
The following information comes directly from Google, “Customers and businesses both benefit when a business is reviewed on Google. Customers can make informed decisions based on information from people they trust. Businesses can strengthen their relationship with customers by directly engaging with reviewers on Google.”
Although it is true that people are more likely to leave a bad review than a good review, it’s your job to make sure that you are doing everything in your power to leave a GREAT lasting impression with your customer.
It really does boil down to the basics and following the golden rule. Give great customer service!
I have found that most companies (not yours of course) don’t even bother to train their employees on how to give great customer service. This too is a skill that you can learn. But YOU, as the leader of the business, needs to teach it. Or get someone to train your staff on the subject.
Don’t assume that just because you’ve hired a great person, with a great personality that they are automatically going to treat YOUR customer’s the way YOU would expect.
Just like anything else, giving great customer service is a skill set.
Here are some tips from Google on how to acquire good reviews:
*Remind your customers to leave feedback on Google. Simply reminding customers that it’s quick and easy to leave feedback on Google on mobile or desktop can help your business stand out from sites with fewer reviews.
*Become an active presence on Google and respond to reviews. Your customers will notice that your business values their input and respond with more reviews.
*Make sure your business information is verified. Only verified businesses can respond to reviews.
The last tip above is a big one. Most companies assume that just because they created a listing on Google that they automatically will be able to respond to reviews.

One last thing. It take an average of Six to Ten, 5 Star Reviews on Google or any other online directory your business is listed on, to be trusted by the consumer.
